1. Basic Usage

To ensure the normal operation of ReadSeek, improve and optimize our service experience, we will collect your device model, operating system, unique device identifier (such as the Android ID or Advertising ID on Android devices, and the IDFA identifier on iOS devices), IP address, software version number, network access method, type and status, network quality data, device accelerometer (such as gravity sensing devices), operation logs, service log information (such as records generated when you use ReadSeek synchronization services or interact with the ReadSeek website), and other log information. This type of information is the basic information that must be collected to provide services.

2. Account Registration

When you register a ReadSeek account, we need to collect your username information. We collect this information to help you complete the registration of your ReadSeek cloud synchronization account and protect your account security. If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to create an account for you and provide you with cloud synchronization services.

3. Data Synchronization

When you use cloud services, we need to collect your current bookmarks, favorites, and settings. We collect this information to ensure that you can use our synchronization services normally, share data between different devices, complete data synchronization, and enhance your user experience. If you do not provide this information, you will not be able to use the synchronization service.

4. Opening Links

When ReadSeek receives shared information or you actively choose to paste text, we will access your clipboard locally to extract links or search keywords to open web pages or search text. We will not collect your clipboard information.

(II) Device Permission Requests

During your use of ReadSeek, we need to request device permissions from you within the necessary scope. Please be aware that we will not enable your device permissions by default. ReadSeek will only collect your information if you actively confirm and enable the permissions. The permissions requested by ReadSeek, the purposes for which they are requested, and whether you will be asked before the permissions are requested are shown in the table below:

When you cancel your account, we will stop using and delete your personal information.

We will conduct statistics on the usage of the services we provide and may share these statistics with the public or third parties for the purposes of product development, service optimization, and security assurance. However, these statistics do not contain any of your personally identifiable information.

II. How We Store Your Personal Information

We will store your personal information within the shortest retention period required for the purposes specified in this Policy and as required by laws and regulations. After the aforementioned period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal information.

1. Personal information collected and generated during our operations within China will be stored in: Yunnan Province Data Center or Guangdong Province Data Center in China (for the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "within China" includes Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions of China).

2. All personal information collected and generated during our operations outside China will be stored in the Hong Kong Data Center, except in the following cases:

(1) Clearly stipulated by laws;

(2) With your explicit authorization;

(3) Your active request for overseas services and other personal initiatives.
